How many years old is the Gangotri Temple?

A small town named Gangotri is located in the Uttarkashi district of the state of Uttarakhand. On the Bhagirathi River’s bank is located  Gangotri. Gangotri is known for being the origin of the river Ganga. The Gangotri Temple is estimated to be 200 years old.  Amar Singh Thapa, a Gorkha commander, rebuilt the Gangotri temple in the 18th century.
