The Hindu temple Brihadeeshwara Temple which is located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, is dedicated to Shiva. It also goes by the names Rajarajesvaram, Periya Kovil, and RajaRajeswara Temple. It is one of India’s largest temples and a superb illustration of Chola-era Dravidian architecture. Raja Raja Chola I began construction on the temple in 1001 AD, and it was completed in 1010 AD.
