How was Hans Fischer awarded the Noble Prize?

The majority of Hans Fischer’s scientific work focused on the investigation of the pigments found in bile, blood, and chlorophyll in leaves, as well as the chemistry of pyrrole, which is the compound that these colours are generated from. His creation of bilirubin and haemoglobin was of special importance. He won many honours for this work, including the Nobel Prize in 1930.
