How was Alfred Werner awarded the Noble Prize?

Alfred Werner was a Swiss chemist who studied at the University of Zurich and worked as a professor there. In 1913, he won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on atom linking in molecules, “especially in inorganic chemistry.” Before 1973, he was the first inorganic chemist to receive the Nobel Prize.
